Safari blowhard switches to Firefox 3, film at 11

After ages of preferring Safari I think I’ve just convinced myself to switch to Firefox 3. I’ve added a few extensions to make it work pretty nicely the way I like, and fill in some features it’s missing (and some that Safari itself doesn’t have): FoxMarks, so I can sync my bookmarks on all machines where I use Firefox 3, optionally to my own server and not some untrusted organization “in the cloud” Fast Video Downloader, for better, more efficient thievery of embedded flash videos and most importantly:

Quit blocking Google Analytics.

I’ve noticed a trend, particularly among Mozilla Firefox users who have the NoScript extension installed, to block Google Analytics from running. This isn’t Google spyware, it’s a way for webmasters like yours truly to learn more about who’s interested in their site, and to find new ways to get more people interested. So be kind to your webmasters and let Google Analytics do its thing. :P

MacVim

Every proper geek is faithful to his text editor, thus the great battles between vi and Emacs users. Working with UNIX servers taught me how to use VIM. I came across MacVim project, Cocoa front-end to the powerful VIM editor that integrates with the OS X desktop. I can now use the same editor, and shortcuts, on all the operating systems that I use! Native Cocoa interface Native OS X shortcuts cmd-o, cmd-s, etc Non-intrusive Safari like tabs What else could you possibly want?

Juniper Links

Juniper Networks was started in 1996 with the goal of taking over the high-performance networking world. Ten years later Juniper Networks sidestepped all the competition and took the number two spot right behind Cisco. They hold 21.8% of service provider, 29% of high-end enterprise routing, and 38.2% of core and edge routing markets! While looking to read-up on the products and services being offered by Juniper Networks you notice that the number of resources is very limited, at least when compared to Cisco.
